Event Overview

FinanceMalta in collaboration with the Blockchain Malta Association will deliver a second series of events in 2018 devoted to the financial opportunities and applications from the emerging technologies pertaining to Blockchain and cryptocurrency. Ahead of sector specific briefings, the first event in this new series will serve as an introduction to some of the things already happening across the financial industry.

The briefings run under the Chatham House Rule to encourage dialogue by all professions about issues arising from any aspect of DLT.

The first session of BlockFinance is sponsored by Mamo TCV Advocates.

  • 4th December 2018 - BlockFinance: Opportunities in the Clearing and Settlement sector
  • Every financial transaction needs clearing and settlement but how does this change with greater blockchain impact - shorter timeframes (and how real-time can real-time be?), how does it impact components in insurance or securitisation for instance? This session is essential for anybody involved in clearing and settling any product.
