Upcoming BlockFinance Events

19 October 2018 - BlockFinance: The Financial Instrument Test in the Context of the VFA Act (Sponsored by GVZH Advocates)
The financial instrument test represents a two-layered set of mandatory tests set out under the Virtual Financial Assets Act (VFAA) which determine the regulatory regime to which a DLT asset is subject. Such a test aims at establishing whether a DLT asset can qualify as an Electronic Money, a Financial Instrument, a Virtual Financial Asset or a Virtual Token.

8 November 2018 - BlockFinance: Opportunities in the Insurance and Pensions sector (Sponsored by RSM Malta)
How does DLT impact insurance records, does the distributed ledger help gather better data more efficiently? Can the process result in more targeted policies and lower premiums?

4 December 2018 - BlockFinance: Opportunities in the Clearing and Settlement field (Sponsored by KnowMeNow)
Every financial transaction needs clearing and settlement but how does this change with greater blockchain impact - shorter timeframes (and how real-time can real-time be?), how does it impact components in insurance or securitisation for instance? This session is essential for anybody involved in clearing and settling any product.
